WHAT! Not Kartik Aaryan, Ranbir Kapoor Was The First Choice For Love Aaj Kal?

Ranbir Kapoor and Imtiaz Ali have collaborated on 2 epic ventures Rockstar and Tamasha. While Rockstar remained decent at the Box office, Tamasha, on the other hand, managed the average tag. But both the films with time and audience evolving, are now considered as ‘masterpiece’. Imtiaz was eager to work with Ranbir again on Love Aaj Kal, but the latter denied.

A recent report by SKJ Bollywood News reveals the same as, “Ranbir declined the role, as he was busy with his best friend Ayan Mukerjee’s marathon sci-fi epic Bhahmastra and with Yash Raj Films costume drama Shamshera.”

If that’s the case then, it turned out in favour of Ranbir, as Love Aaj Kal failed at the Box office and didn’t manage to impress the critics and audience as well. It is now very unlikely that the magical duo will collaborate again as Ranbir has now moved on from coming of the age films, which Imtiaz usually makes.

For the unversed, Love Aaj Kal starred Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan in the lead.

Ranbir’s last outing Sanju was declared an all-time Blockbuster at the Box office, whereas Imtiaz’s last 3 films have flopped. Ranbir’s next Brahmastra with his girlfriend Alia Bhatt is set to release on December 4 this year.
